Introduction to this website
Through the Clear Recital is a collection of serialized commentaries on the Clear Recital, sacred scripture with origin in the 1970s Great Britain in its present form. Today, a number of small religious communities and sects use this book as their primary holy texts. The book has also been known as the "Madrian Scriptures," "Filianic Scriptures," "Deanic Scriptures," and "the Gospel of God the Mother." While there are several variants to this book exist, the majority of texts are identical to one another.
This website, however, presents a different way of approaching the Clear Recital. Here, we consider the Clear Recital from a metaphysical standpoint, using a New Thought approach to world scriptures. Unlike other places, we focus on the practical applications of the scriptures. At the same time, we also analyze the texts using traditional theological and exegetical methods, including a modified version of Midrashic methods and inductive study methods that are more common in the Jewish and Christian hermeneutics.
On this website, we try to stay away from discussions that do not directly relate to the interpretations of the Clear Recital. Other opinions and commentaries are found on a separate website.
Please note, that this website presents a New Thought perspective on the texts of the Clear Recital, from an understanding that every holy text contains kernels of the eternal truth, be it the Bible, Quran, or Buddhist sutras. We do not purport to monopolize the truth, and instead encourage a responsible quest for the truth guided by reason. We have no affiliations with any other religious organizations or entities that make use of the Clear Recital, and we do not endorse or agree with their teachings. Rather, we find the Clear Recital to be an expedient resource to construct a New Thought thexlogy and community outside the more common Christian-based cultural context (like the Unity churches) or anything-goes New Age-ish context (like the Centers for Spiritual Living).
Most importantly, this website does not subscribe to the idea that "God is a woman" or that the Clear Recital necessarily supports such an idea. In keeping with historical New Thought thexlogy, we hold that God/de/ss is above and beyond personality or genders. It is, however, the human perception and interpretation of God/de/ss as male or female (based on human cultural biases and human social construct) that affects our society and how it functions. Patriarchy began with a misguided idea that God was some kind of supreme patriarchal figure. That is a matter of culture.
